Global Handwashing Day is a global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.

Handwashing with soap is the most effective and inexpensive way to prevent death for millions of children in developing countries every year. Despite its lifesaving potential, handwashing with soap isn’t always practiced. Even in the United States, where soap is plentiful, handwashing doesn’t happen as often as it should.

No matter your role, you can celebrate Global Handwashing Day!
